The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge (Malay: Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah), also known as the Penang Second Bridge (Jambatan Kedua Pulau Pinang), is a dual carriageway toll bridge in Penang, Malaysia.
The name Penang comes from the modern Malay name Pulau Pinang which means 'areca nut island'. [5] Penang is also colloquially referred to as the "Pearl of the Orient" and "The Island of Pearls" (Malay: Pulau Mutiara). Sungai Nibong is a residential neighbourhood within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. It lies near the eastern coast of Penang Island, about 8.6 km (5.3 mi) south of the city centre. Sungai Nibong is best known as the site of the annual Penang Island Festival, more popularly called 'Pesta Pulau Pinang' in Malay.
