JazzTimes was an American print magazine devoted to jazz. Published 10 times a year, it was founded in Washington, D.C. , in 1970 by Ira Sabin [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] as the newsletter Radio Free Jazz to complement his record store.
The magazine was published monthly [2] until October 2007, when it switched to a quarterly schedule with an increase in pages. In January 2011, Bob Rusch announced that Cadence would cease publication with the October–December 2011 issue, while other endeavors, such as CIMP, Cadence Jazz, and North Country would continue.
