The Malay Heritage Centre (Malay: Taman Warisan Melayu; Jawi: تامن واريثن ملايو ) is a cultural centre and museum located at Sultan Gate off Beach Road in Kampong Glam, Singapore. Its primary focus is to showcase the heritage and history of Malay Singaporeans.
An annual beer festival, Beerfest Asia, is held in Singapore in June each year. It was first held in 2008 and attracts over 30,000 beer lovers. [16] The festival features over 500 beers and ciders from over 35 exhibitors around the world. [17] The Asia Beer Awards, were established in 2008 and ran in conjunction with Beerfest Asia until 2013.

After 23 years of history, the museum was shut down in 26 September 2011. The structure was eventually demolished in 2012 to make way for a new complex known as Wisma Geylang Serai, which was slated to open in May 2018. [5] The Wisma Geylang Serai was officially opened on 26 January 2019 by Lee Hsien Loong, the 3rd Prime Minister of Singapore. [1]
The museum was also accompanied by an eco-gallery, which was the first "zero-energy green gallery" in Singapore and was to showcase new greening or botanical exhibitions every six to nine months. The gallery's façade was made of Hempcrete , reportedly the first building in Singapore to make use of the material. [ 5 ]
