The mall opened in 1970 and is the oldest mall in Brevard County, Florida. [3] Its original anchor stores were Jordan Marsh (later Burdines, now Macy's), Ivey's (now Dillard's), and J. C. Penney. [4] It remained unchanged until 1985, when a renovation plan was announced which would add 60,000 square feet (5,600 m 2) of retail space. [5]

Jordan Marsh closed in 1992 and became the first Florida location for Mervyn's the same year. [3] The Mervyn's store closed and became a second Dillard's in 1997. [4] The mall is currently managed by Washington Prime Group. In 2003, Macy's took over the mall's Burdine's store, which became Burdines-Macy's until 2005 when it became Macy's.
