Hyde County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,262, [1] making it the second-least populous county in South Dakota. Its county seat is Highmore. [2] The county was founded in 1873, as a county of the Dakota Territory, and organized in 1883. [3]

The Hyde County Memorial Auditorium in Highmore, South Dakota was built in 1951. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
