Area codes 310 and 424 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of California. The numbering plan area includes the West Los Angeles and South Bay areas of Los Angeles County , a small portion of Ventura County , and Santa Catalina Island , which is located 26 miles (42 km) south.
On November 1, 2024, it will also be overlaid by area code 738. 341: overlay with 510: started service on July 22, 2019. 350: overlay with 209: started service on November 28, 2022. 369: overlay with 707: started service on February 1, 2023. 408: San Jose, Sunnyvale, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and Los Gatos; most of Santa Clara County.
(Similar plans were being considered to provide relief to the 310, 415, 510, 760 and 818 area codes as well; however, due to number rationing, all were postponed indefinitely and later permanently cancelled.)
