Nester Township is a civil township of Roscommon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 262 at the 2020 census. Nester was named after Thomas Nester, a businessperson in the local logging industry. [3] The township contains the Eggleston School, the only property in the county listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Houghton Lake CDP is mostly within neighboring Roscommon Township and further to Lake Township. Prudenville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located entirely within Denton Township along the southeast shores of Houghton Lake.

The Benzie County Courthouse was constructed in 1912 as a recreation center and hotel, named The Grand.
