Tanacetum × morifolium Kitam. Tanacetum × sinense (Sabine) Sch.Bip. Chrysanthemum × morifolium (also known in the US as florist's daisy[ 2] and hardy garden mum, [ 3] is a hybrid species of perennial plant in the genus Chrysanthemum of the Asteraceae family.
The chrysanthemum is one of the "Four Gentlemen" ( 四君子) of China (the others being the plum blossom, the orchid, and bamboo ). The chrysanthemum is said to have been favored by Tao Qian, an influential Chinese poet, and is symbolic of nobility. It is also one of the four symbolic seasonal flowers.

Chrysanthemum indicum is a plant of the temperate zone but it can be grown successfully outside the area such as in tropical areas as it is often cultivated in Southeast Asia with moist soil (pH around 6.5) in sunny weather. It can handle temperatures down to −10 °C (14 °F). Seeds can be sowed between the range of August to October.

The epithet angustifolium means narrow leaved. It is commonly misspelled as augustifolium.
