She gained popularity after winning the 2007–08 musical reality show STAR Voice of India - Chhote Ustad at the age of 15. In 2007–08, she participated in the juniors version of the popular musical reality show Amul STAR Voice of India named Chhote Ustaad. Aishwarya Majmudar was winner and Anwesha became runner up in competition.
