Posted on Apr 4, 2007 11:53 AM. Pages files can't be read directly on the PC -- there is no application that supports them (e.g., Word cannot open a Pages file). If a Pages document needs to be editing on a PC, you first need to Export the document as a Word file (or an RTF file).

I can add videos to Pages but the same videos don't add to Word, despite using approved steps. (Click on Insert, select the video - same one as I put in the Pages doc); Save using tiny disk in Menu Bar. I could find no Save within the app itself. All seems well, Finder shows Time Stamp on the doc as of that moment, but . .
Posted on Dec 3, 2022 9:52 AM. There is no version of Pages for Windows and only the Pages application can open a Pages document. That narrows it down to using Pages on a Mac, on iCloud, or on one of iOS, or iPadOS. You can overcome the issue of a Pages document on Windows by exporting it from Pages as a Word .docx document, or PDF.
This web application allows you to upload that .pages document on your Windows machine to iCloud. Once this document is opened there, you can click a wrench icon on the Pages for iCloud toolbar, and choose to Download a Copy. A panel is presented that allows you to choose a Word document format and a .docx is downloaded to you on Windows.

However I had the same question as you, and stumbled upon this thread. I've since discovered that using icloud allows you to download Pages files as word documents which can then be edited. I have pages on my Ipad, and word 2013 on my PC and this is what I do.
Only the Pages application can open Pages documents. There is no version of Pages for the Windows PC, and it doesn't appear that anyone has written a PC app that will convert or import Pages files. To send your PC friends a Pages document, first Export it as Word, RTF, Plain Text or PDF. ePub might work too, but I don't have experience with it ...
