Rancho Santa Ysabel (Arce) Rancho Santa Ysabel was a 17,774-acre (7,193 ha) Mexican land grant in present-day San Luis Obispo County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Francisco Arce. [1] The grant was southeast of present-day Paso Robles, between the Salinas River on the west and Huerhuero Creek on the east.
San Luis Obispo is located on U.S. Route 101, about 31 miles (50 km) north of Santa Maria. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.25 square miles (34.3 km 2), of which, 13.1 square miles (34 km 2) is land and 0.15 square miles (0.39 km 2) (1.13%) is water.
