Kimball is a town in McDowell County, West Virginia, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 145. [4] Kimball was incorporated in 1911 and named for Frederick J. Kimball, a railroad official. [5] Kimball is the site of the first war memorial building erected in memory of the African-American veterans of World War I. [6]

It was also home to the first African-American Legion post. Known as Luther Patterson Post 36, the post was named after a black World War I veteran from West Virginia. The Little Brick Church, also known as Virginia's Chapel and William Tompkins Church, is a historic church that sits along US Route 60 in Cedar Grove, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built in 1853, and is a small brick structure on a stone foundation. The building was nearly square when built, but lengthened within a few years.
Valley Chapel is an unincorporated community in Lewis County, West Virginia, United States. Valley Chapel is located along County Route 10, 5.15 miles (8.29 km) north-northwest of Weston. [2] Valley Chapel had a post office, which closed on January 24, 1998. [3] The community was named after the nearby Valley Chapel church. [4]
