Wolverine: Weapon X is a 2009 comic book series published by Marvel Comics starring the superhero Wolverine. The series was written by Jason Aaron , writing his first ongoing series starring Wolverine after writing several one-shots and limited series featuring the Marvel mainstay character.
The series begins with Logan being captured and prepared for the adamantium bonding process. There are several mentions of his being tough, and the Professor, the director of the Weapon X program, along with his assistants Dr. Cornelius and Miss Hines, wipe his mind and bond adamantium, the hardest known substance on Earth, to his bones to prepare him to be a mindless, soulless killing machine.
Weapon X is a fictional government genetic research facility project appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.They were conducted by Department K, which turned willing and unwilling beings into living weapons to carry out covert missions like assassination or eliminating potential threats to the government.
In the films X-Men and X2, flashbacks show Wolverine has participated in the Weapon X program run by William Stryker, but has no memory of it. The Weapon X facility is revealed to be in Alkali Lake, Alberta. It is destroyed when the dam fails. Jean Grey holds back the water allowing the X-Men to escape, but is killed in the process.
