On May 11, 1996, the ValuJet Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC-9 operating the route crashed into the Florida Everglades about ten minutes after departing Miami as a result of a fire in the cargo compartment caused by mislabeled and improperly stored hazardous cargo (oxygen generators).

This is a very unique image, because very few pictures exist during airplane crashes, and its rare that they're released under a free license suitable for Wikipedia. I realize the plane is a bit off center, but if you count the smoke as part of the picture it looks centered. I was kinda surprised this wasn't a featured picture.
