The Nationale 1 Hommes, officially named the Luxembourg Basketball League (LBBL), is the highest men's basketball league in Luxembourg. The league's governing body is Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Basketball (FLBB). [1] The league was previously known by sponsorships names Diekirch League and Total League. [2]
They are controlled by the Luxembourg Basketball Federation. Luxembourg has competed at the EuroBasket three times, in 1946, 1951, and 1955. Their best result was an eighth place finish at their first appearance at the competition in 1946. However, the national team has yet to qualify to compete at the FIBA World Cup.

Founded in 1947, BBC Amicale was the first Luxembourg club with its own clubhouse and private sports hall, where the club was based in 1958. These good structural conditions were not initially reflected in sporting performance and it was only in the early-1970s the club established itself as the top team in the highest Luxembourg Basketball League, winning the championship in 1970-71 and 1972-73.
