The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist is a Roman Catholic cathedral and minor basilica near Lafayette Square at 222 East Harris Street, Savannah, Georgia, in the United States. It is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Savannah.
The Church of St. John the Baptist became a Cathedral in 1850 when the Diocese of Savannah was erected and a new building was planned on Abercorn Street. The Cathedral cornerstone was laid in 1873 and the Cathedral was dedicated in 1876. It was constructed of brick Cathedral in the French Gothic style.

The diocese was founded in 1850 as the Diocese of Savannah, covering all of Georgia and part of Florida. From 1937 to 1956, it was the Diocese of Savannah-Atlanta.
