Welshpool is an inner southeastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located mostly within the City of Canning and partially within the Town of Victoria Park. Welshpool was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia from 1974 to 1989. The district was based in the south-eastern suburbs of Perth . First contested at the 1974 state election , its first member was Colin Jamieson , hitherto the member for Belmont .
