Prešov [b] is a city in eastern Slovakia.It is the seat of administrative Prešov Region (Slovak: Prešovský kraj) and Šariš.With a population of approximately 85,000 for the city, and in total more than 100,000 with the urban area, it is the third-largest city in Slovakia after the nearby city of Košice.
It is located in the north-eastern Slovakia and has an area of 8,975 km 2. The region has a predominantly mountainous landscape. The subdivisions of Tatras – High Tatras and Belianske Tatras lie almost entirely in the region and include the highest point of Slovakia – Gerlachovský štít (2,654 ASL).

Stropkov District (okres Stropkov) is a district in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.Until 1918, the district was mostly part of the county of Kingdom of Hungary of Zemplín, apart from an area in the north west around Duplín, Tisinec, Krušinec, Výškovce, Vislava, Oľšavka, Gribov and Kožuchovce which formed part of the county of Šariš.
