The Cheap Thrills are an English indie rock band from Liverpool, England. Formed in 2010, the band signed to Eighties Vinyl Records in 2017 and have released 7" EP, Glare , in January 2017, and 12" mini album Vue Du Monde , in November 2019 in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
Big Brother signed a contract with Mainstream Records and recorded four songs for the album released as Big Brother & the Holding Company. The remainder of the record was recorded in Los Angeles on December 12–14. Mainstream was known for its jazz records, and Big Brother was the first rock band to appear on the label.
Cheap Thrills was a critical and commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard Top LPs chart for eight nonconsecutive weeks in 1968. In 2007, Cheap Thrills was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. [2] Rolling Stone magazine ranked the album number 338 in its 2003 list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time". [3]
