Rakshak (Hindi: रक्षक, romanized: rakṣak "protector" [2] [9]) is the second studio album by the Indian heavy metal band Bloodywood, independently released on 18 February 2022. [ 6 ] [ 1 ] The album's music is a blend of Indian folk music and heavy metal , while the lyrics are sung in the English, Hindi and Punjabi languages.
Prior to forming the band, Karan Katiyar regularly uploaded parody metal covers of popular Bollywood songs on YouTube, but he had trouble finding a suitable vocalist. At a local gig, Katiyar met Jayant Bhadula, who worked as a talent manager at an entertainment company, and was impressed by his vocal range and versatility.
Bloodywood guitarist and flautist, Karan Katiyar, has stated that the song was chosen due to it being unheard of outside of the country: "No one knew about "Ari Ari" outside India and that's where it worked." [1] [5] The majority of the group's prior material is composed of humorous covers of well-known songs.
In November 2020, Karan Aujla announced that he was working on his debut album, and revealed Tru Skool as producer of the album. In May 2021, Aujla titled the album as BacDAfucUP, and in June 2021, the album's intro was released by Speed Records under its final title, BacTHAfucUP.
