Hawaii Five-0 is an American police procedural television series developed for television by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Peter M. Lenkov for CBS.It is a reboot of the 1968–1980 series Hawaii Five-O (the original series had the letter "O" instead of the number "0" in its title), which also aired on CBS.
The Hawaii-based television show Magnum, P.I. was created after Hawaii Five-O ended its run, in order to make further use of the expensive production facilities created there for Five-O. The first few Magnum P.I. episodes made direct references to Five-O , suggesting that it takes place in the same fictional setting .
The tenth and final season of the CBS police procedural drama series Hawaii Five-0 premiered on September 27, 2019, for the 2019–20 television season. CBS renewed the series for a tenth season on May 9, 2019. The season contained 22 episodes and concluded on April 3, 2020.
The cancellation also ends a series of CBS productions in Hawaii that began with the reboot of "Hawaii Five-0" in 2010, and continued with the new "Magnum P.I." in 2018 and "NCIS: Hawai'i" in 2021.
