At its opening, the museum had about six wax figures and a few paintings. It grew to have about 20 wax figures, several hundred animal specimens, and about 100 quality oil paintings. [1]

Today, the remaining two buildings are set to become the Poindexter Village Museum and Cultural Center. In 2016, the structure was sold [1] to the nonprofit organization Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT). The site was subsequently listed as one of Columbus's most endangered historic sites, in the 2016 listing by Columbus Landmarks.
