  2. Noam Chomsky: Centrism Will Only Get Us Four More Years of Trump

Yeah, whatever Noam. How'd your Election 2000 support of Ralph Nader work out for ya? I know how it worked out for me. And my neighbors. And my country. And about 200,000 Iraqis, Afghans, American & NATO soldiers. And over 2000 souls on 9/11 and its aftermath. So pardon me, Dr. Chomsky, if I fail to give one flying FUCK about your political ...

Asking for a friend. I read Butler's recent "Who's Afraid of Gender?" with as open a mind as I could muster, but (her global influence aside) the shoddy reasoning and willful omissions in that book cannot be the work of any country's "greatest living philosopher," even bearing in mind that this is her first commercial, mass-market work.

Poor Noam Chomsky (95) suffered a major stroke back in June and spent time recuperating in a hospital in Brazil (his wife's native country). He's no doubt well looked after (and mentally still with it, even though he's lost the power of speech).

It surprises me how little exposure some posters who participate in the political threads here seem to have had to a wide cross-section of opinion. Someone like Noam Chomsky--whose mind I respect--is too far left for me, but I recognize his influence when I see it, and I would never automatically assume that a left-of-center poster was Russian.

Bill does the song with his daughter in concert now. I think Daryl Hall and Kim Carnes also turned down the song. Donna was going to be paired up with her husbands Brooklyn dreams bandmate Joe Esposito but mentioned above turned it down. Medley said no because he wasn’t too enthusiastic about the song and his wife was about to have their ...

I'll toss Spike Lee, Alec Baldwin's insane current wife, Miss Ezra Thing, Diddy, Snoop, Madge, and the most arrogant, power-mad,,smug, dishonest illiterate and shameless duo, Beyonce and her disgusting husband J-Zee. And poor Rosie O'Donnell. But Oprah is, always has been and always will be the Queen of this particular ring of Hell.

He was one of the more discussed TV personalities on DL when Reality TV was in its infancy. Duncan a fey father who moved his family of 9 (seven kids and a wife, which was the most controversial part of his brood) from their comfortable home in Vermont to NYC to pursue his dreams of stardom.
