FLORESVILLE — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of an early afternoon accident on F.M. 536 near F.M. 1303, which claimed the life of one and sent two more to the hospital via AirLife.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist, who was driving east on Standish, was apparently trying to beat the traffic light on U.S. 181, according to Floresville police Sgt. Devin Keen. The motorcycle hit the Escape, which was starting to turn right from U.S. 181 onto Standish. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
