The Intrepid Museum is a museum ship in New York City that displays aircraft, spacecraft, and other artifacts from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Space Shuttle program. It was founded in 1979 by a nonprofit organization and opened in 1982, and is located at Pier 86 on the Hudson River.
USS Arizona was a Pennsylvania-class battleship of the United States Navy, named after the 48th state. She was sunk by Japanese bombers during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, killing 1,177 crewmen, and now lies beneath the USS Arizona Memorial.
Lou Conter (1921-2024) was a lieutenant commander and naval aviator who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. He was the last living crew member of the USS Arizona until his death in 2024.
