The Holland Lop is a breed of lop-eared rabbit that was recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) in 1979. The Holland Lop, with a maximum weight of 1.8 kg (4 lb) (as stipulated by ARBA), is one of the smallest lop-eared breeds.
The English Lop, though longer and more slender in body than other lop breeds, has ears up to 79 cm (31.125 in) in length tip to tip—the longest ears of any rabbit breed. The ears of English Lops reach the end of their growth at approximately 5 months of age, although the ears of males can gain as much as an inch as their skull matures [clarify].
The Velveteen Lop's coat should feel short and plush to the touch. The fur is thick, creating a velvet plush-like texture. The coat can be a variety of colors and patterns common in lop rabbits. [4] The overall goal is a rabbit with the fur characteristics of the Mini Rex breed and the build and ear length of an English Lop in a modest size.
There is also a Canadian Plush Lop, [citation needed] with the "curly" variant rex fur. Created using Astrex as well as Holland Lop and Mini Rex base stock, the Canadian Plush Lop is a curly breed. It has a more fully arched conformation than the other rex lops, is very bold and friendly, and excels at rabbit agility.
The Cashmere Lop rabbit is a medium-sized rabbit with long dense fur. [1] There is also a Miniature Cashmere Lop. [ 2 ] The Cashmere lop was recognised as being different from the Dwarf Lop by the British Rabbit Council in the 1980s. [ 3 ]
