The M-series Studebaker trucks came in several versions both pre and post WW II. The M-5 was a 1/2 ton truck, available in a pickup configuration as well as a cab and rolling chassis. The M15 was the 3/4 ton version. The M15A was the one & 1 + 1 ⁄ 2-ton version. The M5, M15, and M15A all came with the Champion 169 ci. engine only.

Chevrolet adopted GMC's payload nomenclature, with the R20 and R/V30 being replaced with the R2500 and R/V3500 respectively. After 1972, the Canadian Mercury version of the C series was discontinued, becoming the last Mercury truck until the 1993 Mercury Villager. The year 1974 was the last for the cog-and-lightning bolt crest that graced the front of the C series trucks from the beginning, and other Ford trucks since the 1950s.
