Rowleys Bay (/ ˈ r oʊ l i z ˈ b eɪ / ROH-leez BAY) [2] is an unincorporated community located on Lake Michigan in northern Door County, Wisconsin, in the town of Liberty Grove. [ 1 ] [ 3 ] The community is named after Peter Rowley who settled in the area in 1835.

Around this time, Doolittle established Door County Days, a summer picnic with music and sports events attended by thousands. Peninsula was becoming a premier outdoor playground in the Midwest. A Civilian Conservation Corps camp was established at Peninsula State Park during the Great Depression. The crews built roads and removed dead wood.
The name of the peninsula and the county comes from the name of a route between Green Bay and Lake Michigan.
