Jefferson State Community College (informally Jeff State) is a public community college with multiple campuses in Alabama, including the Jefferson Campus in northeastern Birmingham, Alabama (eastern Jefferson County), the Shelby-Hoover Campus in northern Shelby County, the St. Clair-Pell City Campus in Pell City, and the Chilton-Clanton Campus in Clanton.

A second campus, Jefferson Technical Campus, is just seven blocks west and is home to many of the college's technical and trades programs. The Southwest Campus is located in southwestern Jefferson County, just off the Gene Snyder Expressway. The Southwest Campus is home to the college's Technology and Related Sciences program.
Established on November 7, 1961, Jefferson Community College was the area's first institution of higher education and remains the only college with a campus in a 50 miles (80 km) radius. It was initially accredited in 1969, and is the only college in the State University of New York (SUNY) System with a zoo technology degree program. [2]
