The following is a list of Illinois High School Association member conferences. Schools that belong to these conferences compete with each other on a local level in athletics and non-athletic activities.

1972 – Highland Park and Niles East both join from the Suburban League. Maine East joins from the West Suburban Conference. This is the first year there are two divisions in the conference. 1974 – Maine North moves out of conference. 1975 – With the Suburban League now folded, Evanston, New Trier East, Waukegan East, and Waukegan West join.

In 2018-19, Glenbard South left the conferences to join the Upstate Eight Conference while, Aurora Christian, Bishop McNamara, Rosary, and St. Francis joins the conference. Starting in 2019-20, Westmont left the Interstate Eight Conference to join the MSC following with the departure of Fenton High School.
