Clower was born in Liberty, Mississippi and began a two-year stint in the Navy after graduating from high school in 1944. Upon his discharge, in 1946, he was a Radioman Third Class (RMN3) and had earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (with two bronze service stars), and the World War II Victory Medal.
At the time of the murders, Price was 26 years old and a deputy sheriff in Neshoba County, Mississippi. He was a member of the White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. [2] While he was never charged with the murders, Price was convicted in October 1967 of violating the civil rights of the three victims. [3]

Born and raised in Pelham, New York, [1] [2] to a family of Jewish heritage, Schwerner attended Pelham Memorial High School.He was called Mickey by his friends. His mother, Anne Siegel (May 1, 1912 – November 29, 1996), was a science teacher at nearby New Rochelle High School, and his father, Nathan Schwerner (June 19, 1909 – March 6, 1991), was a businessman.
The station formerly operated as WDFX, an owned-and-operated outlet of American Family Radio. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] In 2017, the station was sold by the American Family Association to John and Lynn Allen for $150,000; John is a stakeholder in Delta Radio Networks, which operates several stations in northwest Mississippi. He hosted radio programs in Atlanta, Miami, Cleveland, and Philadelphia before moving to KGO Radio of San Francisco in 1975. In 2004, the Disney/ABC-owned station signed Owens to an eight-year guaranteed contract to continue hosting The Ronn Owens Program. At its peak, the program had more than 500,000 regular listeners.
