William Henry Fry (5 February 1830 [1] – 26 December 1929) [2] was an English-American wood carver and gilder of the Aesthetic Movement.Born in Bath, Somerset, Fry moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1849 [3] to work in a shop run by his father, Henry L. Fry.
Speaking on the uniqueness of the group in view of the era, Henry Vestine of Canned Heat wrote that the Cincinnati Jug Band was "the only country-oriented jug band recording known by a non-southern based group". [5] Among the tunes, "Newport Blues" has since become the Cincinnati Jug Band's best-known recording.
