This is a list of wineries, breweries, cideries, meaderies, and distilleries in the state of New Jersey in the United States. As of January 2024 [update] , there are 51 wineries, 114 breweries, 18 brewpubs, 26 distilleries, 3 cideries and 1 meadery [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] that are licensed and in operation within the state.

In December 2019 the brewery almost shut down when one of the founders suffered from a stroke, but a GoFund me was created and raised $15,000. [6] [7] Currently they produce about 1,200 barrels a year in their 15-barrel brewhouse and is on tap in over 100 different bars and restaurants in northern and central New Jersey. [8]

The first brewery in New Jersey was established in a fledgling settlement of Pavonia in what is now Hoboken when the state was part the Dutch New Netherland colony. It was short-lived and destroyed by a band of Lenape in 1643 during Governor Kieft's War (1643-1645). [4]
Carton Brewing was founded in 2011 by cousins Augie Carton and Chris Carton. Wanting to "draw from the flavors and cultures of their native community", the cousins decided to open in the Jersey Shore town of Atlantic Highlands in a 5,000 sq ft red-brick historic warehouse.
Kane Brewing was founded by Michael Kane. He started homebrewing at age 22 in order to recreate a German/Belgian style beer he tasted while on a trip in College. [2] After he won gold and silver medals at the 2009 National Homebrew Competition, he took his hobby more seriously and researched opening a brewery. [3]

Tun Tavern Restaurant & Brewery is a brewpub in Atlantic City in Atlantic County, New Jersey. [2] [3] The brewery opened to the public in 1998 and was named for the historical Tun Tavern, a colonial establishment located in Philadelphia from 1685–1781. [1] [4] The brewery produced 550 barrels of beer in 2006. [1]
