The 2024–25 AJHL season is the 61st season of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).Competition will begin on 24 August 2024 with a 35-game exhibition season, followed by a 54-game regular season schedule which will run from 13 September 2024 to 15 March 2025.
The two largest leagues (Capital Junior Hockey League, Heritage Junior B Hockey League) send two teams each, the remaining three send one, while the host team is guaranteed a berth. Starting with the 2023 championships the format was revised such that only the league playoff champion is to advance plus the host city team.
The HJHL was founded in 1987 and is made up of teams from southern and central Alberta. The HJHL is the largest Junior B league in the province, with 13 teams. The top two teams qualify for the Alberta Provincial Junior B Hockey Championship , whose winner had an option to compete in the Keystone Cup .
It is sanctioned by Hockey Canada, and operated by Hockey Calgary. Founded in 1945, the CJHL is one of the oldest hockey leagues operating in Alberta.
