The Birmingham to Worcester via Bromsgrove line is a railway line in the West Midlands of England connecting Birmingham to Worcester via Bromsgrove. The most notable feature on the line is the Lickey Incline, between Barnt Green and Bromsgrove. It is one of two railway routes between Birmingham and Worcester, the other route runs via Kidderminster.
Kidderminster station opened with the extension of the Oxford, Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway from Worcester to Stourbridge on 1 May 1852. It became an important intermediate station on the line which became part of the West Midland Railway in 1860, which in turn amalgamated with the Great Western Railway and the South Wales Railway on 1 August 1863.

Worcester Foregate Street station. Finishing the Malvern Tunnel was the key to opening the rest of the Worcester and Hereford line. The opening took place on 15 September 1861. It had the effect of physically connecting the two parts of the West Midland Railway: the former OW&WR and the former NA&HR.
The Worcester area is controlled by another two signal boxes at Henwick (west of Foregate Street) and Tunnel Junction (to the north of Shrub Hill). Both platforms 1 and 2 can be used in either direction; generally, trains for Foregate Street use platform one and trains towards Oxford and Cheltenham Spa use platform 2.
From Droitwich in Worcestershire it runs towards Kidderminster where it meets the A449 from Worcester. This section of road used to be the B4192 until the late 1970s when it was upgraded to A road status. At Kidderminster, it starts again and then runs north-north-west into Shropshire, via Bridgnorth and Telford (where it crosses the M54 motorway).
