Emory Canda Ferguson (March 5, 1833 – October 7, 1911) was an early pioneer of Washington state who helped create Snohomish County from Island County in 1861. Along with Edson F. Cady, he was a founder of Snohomish, which would become the county seat from 1862 until 1896.
In October 1850, Ebey moved from Olympia to Whidbey Island. When Congress passed the Donation Land Claim Act in 1850, Ebey claimed 640 acres (1.00 sq mi; 2.6 km 2) for himself and his family overlooking Admiralty Inlet then wrote his wife to prepare for a move west with their sons. [4] [5] The remainder of Ebey's family followed in October 1854.

Snohomish (/ s n oʊ ˈ h oʊ m ɪ ʃ /) is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. The population was 10,126 at the 2020 census. It is located on the Snohomish River, southeast of Everett and northwest of Monroe. Snohomish lies at the intersection of U.S. Route 2 and State Route 9.
