The Greenland National Museum (Greenlandic: Nunatta Katersugaasivia Allagaateqarfialu) is located in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. It was one of the first museums established in Greenland, inaugurated in the mid-1960s. [ 1 ]
The museum was founded on 22 May 2005, occupying a former Seventh-day Adventist Church building in Kissarneqqortuunnguaq, Nuuk. [3] The museum was donated to the citizens of the Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq (then Nuuk Municipality) by Svend and Helene Junge [4] [5] and inaugurated on 21 June 2007, Greenland National Day. [6]
