Central University of Kerala (CUK) is one of the 15 central universities established under The Central Universities Act, 2009 (Act No.25 of 2009) an Act to establish and incorporate universities for teaching and research by the Parliament of India. [1] The university is seated in Kasaragod, the northernmost district of the Indian state of Kerala.
The Department of Hindi, established in 1963, is one of the oldest departments of the university. It was originally part of Kerala University but moved to the University of Cochin in 1971. It is the only department in South India with Department Research Support (DRS) and Department Special Assistance (DSA) programmes in Hindi supported by UGC.
