The Köhler equation relates the saturation ratio over an aqueous solution droplet of fixed dry mass to its wet diameter as: [4] = (), with: S {\displaystyle S} = saturation ratio over the droplet surface defined as S = p w / p w 0 {\textstyle S=p_{w}/p_{w}^{0}} , where p w {\textstyle p_{w}} is the water vapor pressure of the solution ...
In physical chemistry, supersaturation occurs with a solution when the concentration of a solute exceeds the concentration specified by the value of solubility at equilibrium. Most commonly the term is applied to a solution of a solid in a liquid , but it can also be applied to liquids and gases dissolved in a liquid.

In physics, there are equations in every field to relate physical quantities to each other and perform calculations. Entire handbooks of equations can only summarize most of the full subject, else are highly specialized within a certain field. Physics is derived of formulae only.
Cloud physics is the study of the physical processes that lead to the formation, growth and precipitation of atmospheric clouds. These aerosols are found in the troposphere , stratosphere , and mesosphere , which collectively make up the greatest part of the homosphere .
Partielle Differentialgleichungen in der Physik, the sixth and final volume of its series, was published in 1947 by Dieterich'sche Verlagsbuchhandlung while it was translated to English by Ernst G. Straus and published by Academic Press in 1949 under the title Partial Differential Equations in Physics. The book was reviewed by George F. Carrier ...
The dynamics of relaxation are very important in cloud physics for accurate mathematical modelling. In water clouds where the concentrations are larger (hundreds per cm 3) and the temperatures are warmer (thus allowing for much lower supersaturation rates as compared to ice clouds), the relaxation times will be very low (seconds to minutes). Equation [ edit ] In Mason's formulation the changes in temperature across the boundary layer can be related to the changes in saturated vapour pressure by the Clausius–Clapeyron relation ; the two energy transport terms must be nearly equal but opposite in sign and so this sets the interface temperature of the drop.
