The estate lies close to junction 46 of the A1(M) and Wetherby service station. The First Leeds X98 bus service (Leeds City Square to Wetherby Deighton Bar) links the estate with Wetherby bus station, Linton, Collingham, Seacroft, Oakwood, Harehills and Leeds city centre. The estate is also linked to Knaresborough by Connexionsbuses service 780.
Situated 3 miles (5 km) south of Wetherby, Boston Spa is on the south bank of the River Wharfe across from Thorp Arch. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 4,006 rising to 4,079 in the 2011 census. [1] It sits in the Wetherby ward of Leeds City Council and the Wetherby and Easingwold parliamentary constituency.
The extension was designed by Vincente Stienlet and was opened and dedicated on 11 October 1986. The extension won the Leeds Award for Architecture in 1987.
