The ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run is a point-to-point 10K race and 5K fun run/walk that has been a Houston, Texas tradition since 1988. Runners and walkers lead the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) Parade past thousands of spectators in downtown Houston. Race entry fees benefit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Educational Fund.
With thousands of runners and spectators, it is the largest single day sporting event in the city. It is run concurrently with a half marathon and a 5 km race. The 2007 race included the first-ever satellite running of the event, run simultaneously in Fallujah, Iraq. [2] The races bring crowds of nearly one half million to view the runners.
