This template always performs a whole-phrase search. There is no need to use quotation marks in the parameter. This template should not be used without any parameters. If this is done, it will search all pages starting with "list of". There are two main ways of specifying which articles this template should search. For simple cases, where all of the page titles to be searched are the same except for the very end, prefix= can be used:

For example a search for "phenom" AND "lecture", with the templates Search link and regexp having the weighting score of the pages they are on multiplied by 1.5 and 2.25 respectively, ignoring all other templates (halting the addition of any score for any other template): phenom lecture boost-templates:"Template:search link|150% tlusage|225%"

Templates are not included in search results by default, which makes it hard for readers and editors to find them. They implicitly assume that readers who went through an article in some broad topic will want to read other articles on the same broad topic, rather than articles wiki-linked in the text or in the "See also" section.
