1999 Ford Puma rear 1.7-litre Zetec-S VCT engine in a 1999 Ford Puma. All Pumas are front-engined, front-wheel-drive, three-door coupés with four seats. They came with 15-inch (380 mm) alloy wheels as standard, (although the Ford Racing Puma was equipped with 17-inch (430 mm) alloy wheels), with front disc and rear drum brakes.

The Ford Puma is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Ford since 2019 as a variant of the seventh-generation Fiesta. [ 5 ] Sales started in Europe in 2019, in Australasia in late 2020, and in South Africa from October 2023. [ 4 ]
It has a bore and a stroke of 93 mm × 92 mm (3.66 in × 3.62 in). The engine has no commonality to Ford's "Puma" engine or VM Motori. It is a development of the IDI Mazda 2.2L normally aspirated, later 2.5L NA and Turbo and later 2.9L NA, with Bosch common-rail direct injection and a variable geometry turbocharger.
The 1.3 litre engine was replaced with the 1.4 litre PTE (CVH) engine in 1999. The Mark IV was not sold in North America. The German-built Ford Puma was based on the Mark IV, sharing its underpinnings. For this reason the 1.7 VCT engine from the Ford Puma has become an extremely popular engine swap into the Mark IV and Mark IV facelift Fiesta.
2012–present; The 3.2 is an I5 engine used in the Ford Transit, the Ford Ranger, Ford Everest, Mazda BT-50 and the Vivarail. For the North American-spec Transit, * the 3.2 L Duratorq is modified to meet American and Canadian emissions standards and is branded as a Power Stroke engine.
It is also sold as a crate engine by Ford Power Products as the ZSG. From 2002 on, Ford started to badge their engines as Duratec. The 1.7 L version was dropped when the production of the Puma ended. Now the 1.6 L is also available with variable valve timing, known by Ford as Ti-VCT (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing).
This was done by using the 7600 transmission and rear end and mating it to the Ford six-cylinder industrial engine with a special cast iron subframe for added strength.
