The site along the west side of the Scioto River near the Discovery Bridge on Broad Street was originally home to the Franklin County Veterans Memorial, [3] which originally opened in 1955 [4] and was demolished to make way for the museum in early 2015, [5] by S.G. Loewendick & Sons. [6]
