Tripping Daisy is a neo-psychedelic pop rock band that was formed in Dallas, Texas, by lead singer/guitarist Tim DeLaughter in 1990 along with Jeff Bouck (drums), Wes Berggren (guitar) and Mark Pirro (bass). The group disbanded in 1999 following the sudden death of Berggren.
I Am an Elastic Firecracker (stylized as i am an ELASTIC FIRECRACKER) is the second studio album by Tripping Daisy, released on June 20, 1995, through Island Records. It is the band's major label debut, and was produced by Ted Niceley. It featured the band's biggest hit, "I Got a Girl", whose video received extensive airplay on MTV.
Tripping Daisy were unhappy with Island's decision to release Get It On, citing its poor quality; Tim DeLaughter commented in 1998 that the band's performance at Trees "wasn't the best show to do [a live album] on". [6] By September 1995, Get It On had sold 4,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. [2]
