Several Tokyu 9000 and Odakyu 8000 series trains (100 vehicles in total) are expected to be transferred from their original operators from 2024 in use primarily on Seibu's branch lines such as the Kokubunji and Chichibu lines, thus bringing down energy consumption as they replace some of Seibu's oldest vehicles.

The 9000 series trains were built between 1993 and 1999 at Seibu's own Tokorozawa Factory by combining electrical equipment from former 101 series EMUs with new steel bodies based on the New 2000 series design. [2] These were the last trains to be built at the Tokorozawa Factory before it closed in 2000. [2]
Three 3-car trains were converted from 2005 from former Seibu 101 series 4-car EMUs. Conversion involved sealing the centre pair of side doors and installing transverse seating displaced from Seibu 10000 series limited express EMUs when they were refurbished. [1] The seats are arranged in facing bays, and no longer rotate. [3]
The 6000 series was introduced into service on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line on 1 June 1992, [4] and on the Seibu Yurakucho Line in 1994 following the latter's expansion to Nerima Station. [1] While the 6000 series was predominantly used on Ikebukuro Line services, some sets saw use on the Shinjuku Line network. [3]
