Icelandic singer and songwriter Björk has recorded more than two hundred songs for ten studio albums, two soundtrack albums, a compilation album, six remix albums and three collaboration albums. She is the sole writer and producer of most of the songs included in her albums. She also sometimes plays instruments during her recording sessions.
After leaving her band, The Sugarcubes, Björk promoted her first album Debut (1993) through performances at various shows and award ceremonies. While starting her Debut tour, Björk served as an opening act for U2 during their Zoo TV Tour stop at the Wembley Stadium in London. [1]
Many of the songs were taken multiple times to perfect them for the TV broadcast, and the night was capped with a cover of Rodgers and Hart's "My Funny Valentine", a song Björk has never recorded in studio. Björk's MTV Unplugged concert was released on DVD as part of the collection MTV Unplugged / Live on 9 February 2002.
The song received a heavy promotion, and as such, Björk did numerous TV appearances. On 8 August 1993, she appeared on the UK show The Beat, performing the song along with "Venus as a Boy" and "Come to Me". Björk performed the song live on other British shows like Dance Energy, Top of the Pops and Smash Hits Poll Winners Party.
