3-321 FAR traces its lineage to Battery C, 321st Field Artillery, which organized on 2 September 1917 at Camp Gordon, Georgia. After training at Camp Gordon until May 1918, the battery shipped to France, and participated with the regiment in the St. Mihiel , Meuse Argonne and Lorraine 1918 campaigns.
The 3rd Georgia was organized in late 1776 with eight companies, mainly recruited in North Carolina. On 23 December 1777, it joined the Georgia Brigade of the department. The regiment saw action in Florida in 1777 and 1778, the Siege of Savannah and the Siege of Charleston .

The 3rd Infantry Division Artillery (DIVARTY) is the divisional artillery command for the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia. The DIVARTY has served with the division in World Wars I and II, the Korean War , Operation Iraqi Freedom, and in peacetime at Fort Stewart and Germany.
The Georgia History Festival is a K–12 educational program put on by the society and consists of six months of events (coinciding with the traditional academic school year) to commemorate and study Georgia's history. It is held annually around the anniversary of the founding of the colony of Georgia on February 12, 1733.
