Saraland is a city in Mobile County, Alabama, United States, and a suburb of Mobile. As of the 2020 census , the population of the city was 16,171, [ 2 ] up from 13,405 at the 2010 census. Saraland, part of the Mobile metropolitan area , is the third largest city in Mobile County.
Saraland Elementary School and Adams Middle School left the district in April 2008; they are now operated by the Saraland City Schools. Satsuma High School, Lee Primary and Lee Intermediate left the district in 2012 and are a part of the Satsuma City School System. In 2012, Chickasaw voted to separate and now has the Chickasaw City Schools.

1905 UMS Football Team. UMS-Wright Preparatory opened as University Military School on October 2, 1893, at 559 Conti Street. The school's founder and first headmaster was Dr. Julius T. Wright (1871–1931).
