The fish cabin is located at the south end of Pine Island in the Pine Island Sound.It was built before 1930 by the Punta Gorda Fish Co. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 as part of a multiple property submission of fish cabins in Charlotte Harbor.
Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park is a 46,000-acre (190 km 2) Florida State Park, composed of islands and land that surrounds Charlotte Harbor. It is part of the Southwest Florida Water Management District and protects the Gasparilla Sound / Charlotte Harbor, Cape Haze , Matlacha Pass , and Pine Island Sound aquatic preserves. [ 1 ]
